  1. Thanks for visiting my Big Island of Hawaii news blog. Your story has possibilities. I never had the courage to sit down and write a sci-fi story. You might want to bounce your idea off several of your friends and see what they think. For what it’s worth, I think you’ve made a good start…Good luck. Who knows? You may prove to be another Isaac Asimov or Poul Anderson. Keep at it. Aloha from the Island of Hawaii. Russ

  2. Thanks for reading forurbanchix! I hope you liked the latest entry! I happen to love science fiction and I think that it is great that you are working on your own story, especially at such a young age. Your story is clearly in its beginning stages, but there is something to work with here. You should take a break from it for a day or two, then print out a hard copy and read it with fresh eyes. You’ll be surprised how much of a difference it makes in editing and coming up with ideas. In addition, I completely agree with Russ, you should bounce your ideas off of some of your friends to see what they think. Also, target the age group that you are writing for. From the descriptions of your characters, you are writing for an age group around your own, so I would say to have a couple of your friends read it, don’t tell them it’s your work so that their opinions can be completely unbiased, and then see what they say. You may have a better idea of what you can work on because you would have a sense of what people in your target group are interested in and what their tastes are. Best of luck to you! Keep everyone posted on your progress!

  3. I enjoy this story so far, but I do believe you would benefit from a few different rewrites and even planning out events. Never keep it in your head though always write it down or you will lose it. One thing that has helped my self now, and friends of mine while writing is the 22 rules of storytelling tips by Pixar. As you most likely know they are well renowned for their stories and the movies that go along with them. I have a link right here for you: http://io9.com/5916970/the-22-rules-of-storytelling-according-to-pixar .

I really like your enthusiasm and look forward to your further posts. Also since you seem of the creative mind I would love to hear your input into the current and future character bios that I will be posting in S.O.G. Productions. Look forward to it, and best of luck with your stories.
